Vision and cultural role The Saudi Arabian Society for Culture and Arts is one of the main pillars of the cultural scene in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as it plays a pivotal role in nurturing the cultural and artistic movement and enhancing its presence locally, Arably and globally. Its inception came in response to society's need for an institutional framework that embraces creativity and directs artistic energies towards broader and more influential horizons.

The association’s branch was established in the city of Abha in 1399 AH, corresponding to 1981 AD, to be a cultural and artistic platform that serves the Asir Region, contributes to highlighting its creative energies, and keeps pace with its growing cultural movement.

Association objectives The association’s mission is based on a set of goals that constitute the framework of its cultural and artistic work, the most prominent of which are: 1 - Raising the level of culture and arts in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and enhancing their presence in public life as an essential element in building community awareness.

2 - Nurturing Saudi writers and artists, working to develop their cultural, artistic and social capabilities, securing their future, and directing their production to serve the issues of their society and reflect their national identity.

3 - Adopting young talents, and providing them with opportunities to highlight their excellence and brilliance, under systematic supervision that ensures that these energies are directed within a framework that combines commitment to values, originality, and openness to creativity.

4 - Representing the Kingdom in various cultural and artistic forums and events, and participating in everything that would advance culture and arts at the Arab and international levels, while following up on their developments, and coordinating with relevant institutions. Fields of technical work The association works through a group of artistic paths concerned with developing aesthetic taste and supporting creative people.

The most prominent of these areas are: Plastic Art: The association embraces a number of plastic artists, provides them with platforms for display and experimentation, and contributes to the development of the plastic movement. Photography: By supporting photographers, organizing exhibitions and workshops, and enhancing the presence of the image as a means of contemporary visual expression.

Diverse arts: which include various forms of creative expression, and open the way for artists to present their works within a stimulating cultural environment.
